After the last surf trip i was psyched to check out the river surfing in bremgarten. It turned out that there was even a river surf competition in thun the same month. The standing waves in the river are really different to the waves in the ocean. There is no such thing
as reading waves or paddeling into waves. There is no adrenalin rush, sharks and no dolphins.
But it puts a big smile on your face, you can have endless long rides and you can boost your skills on small waves. But the biggest advantage are the vibes from the people in this landlocked country. We don't have an ocean and that is maybe why we love to hang out together and appreciate a small wave much more than anyone else living on the ocean. |
